Get fit with Historic Hawes Farms and Healthy Shasta at the 2nd annual Farmhand 5K! Come on down and enjoy a cross country style run in the fresh farm air, complete with farm style obstacles such as hay bales, wood planks, ditches, and water holes. You'll enjoy the scenery as you run along our fields and through our orchards and the wild terrain of our river trail. The race will be held on November 3, 2012, with registraion opening at 7:30 am, check in at 8:30, and race start at 9:00. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age bracket.
At this year's Farmhand 5K, you'll get more for your entry fee! We planned the run this year to conincide with our 3rd annual Great Pumpkin Smash. This event is fun for the whole family, You'll be able to test your abilities with Pumpkin Tee Ball, dash for prizes hidden amongst pumpkin dropped from a crane in The Pumpkin Drop, and reserve your own square in a larger than life version of Pumpkin Bingo. (A bingo board is plotted out in one of our fields. Pumpkins are dropped from a helicopter, and there's no telling which square they'll hit!) Prizes at this event include free coffee cards, free rounds of golf, free hotel nights, gift certificates to local restaurants, and much more! Last year's grand prize for the Pumpkin Bingo was a rifle from Bastiani Arms! And you'll still be able to enjoy our fun-filled farm activities like pony rides, cow train, and jumping pillow. All this is included with your $12.50 race entry fee!
To cap the day off, if you're feeling a little extra adventurous, upgrade your day pass to include our encore presentation of our wildly popular new nighttime attraction! Due to overwhelming popularity and demand, we have extended the run of "Zombie Slayer: The Ultimate Paintball Experience" for an additional weekend. Test your courage aboard one of our specially designed paintball hayride trailers, as you travel past the same fields, through the same orchards, and along the same river trail you ran that morning. You'll enjoy the same beautiful scenery, only now edged in darkness and teeming with bloodthirsty zombies!
